Three steps forward. Two steps back.
We all have heard this phrase many times being used in despair or to discourage oneself or others because progess is going slower than one wants it to.
How about looking on the positive message of this pharse which is essentially saying to take it one step at a time.
1. Little steps help you stay on track.
It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve a goal. Breaking your project into smaller achievable daily steps you assure that your day is more productive.
Work your way up to bigger task that may take more than a day to finish and you will not only feel more accomplished but also have more self confidence.
2. You can measure your progress.
Small steps helps you to measure your progress and to figure out what works for you and what doesn't, so you can change what's needed in a timely manner.
You will also understand how far you have come and what you need to do to move forward.
It allows you to celebrate small wins.
3. You won't feel overwhelmed.
Let's face it, it's because of feeling overwhelmed is the number one reason for not finishing a goal. So why set yourself up for sure failure.
4. You're less likely to procrastinate.
It's easy to keep going once you start to see progress. It is when we actually see progress that makes it much easier to have the time and energy to start the next step. You start to get addicted to seeing progress ... kind of like me with starting this blogging site.
Take it easy on yourself. There's plenty of people and things in this time and age all ready being hard on you as it is. Don't be hard one yourself, after all you can't control outside elements to be kind to you but surely you can count on self kindness.
